Fight the Power Journal seeks to analyze the day’s events from a radical anti-capitalist anti-racist perspective that is internationalist, and pro working class. It stands for the rights of all oppressed peoples. It supports the human rights of all especially Blacks and People of Color, Women, LGBQT, Muslims, and immigrants who have been singled out for discrimination in Western democracies.
Editor and Publisher Mel Reeves writes from the perspective of someone who has spent over 30 years as a political can community activist/organizer who has also spent time reading studying and analyzing the social political economic system we live in.
The constant theme in his writings if there is one is there is something gravely wrong with the system we live in and thus we ought to change it.
“The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those they oppress. Men[women] may not get all they pay for in this world, but they must certainly pay for all they get. If we ever get free from the oppressions and wrongs heaped upon us, we must pay for their removal. We must do this by labor, by suffering, by sacrifice, and if needs be, by our lives and the lives of others.” Frederick Douglass
